The latest version of Vulani (Vulani 1.7.4) is on track to be released early next week (23 February 2010). This release is set to bring full support for PABX telephone networks into the already comprehensive Vulani package.

With the incorporation of Asterisk support, it will now be possible to manage your telephone system through your Vulani server. This upgrade will effectively turn your Vulani box into a fully VOIP-capable switchboard, allowing you full control over your internal telephone network as well as a full caller ID and call-detail reporting system.

After nearly 9 years at the helm of THUSA, Warwick Chapman has handed over the reins and title of Managing Director to co-founder, good friend and business partner, Carl Petzer.

Together, Warwick and Carl started THUSA in early 2000 and through good clients and supportive staff have grown THUSA from 2 to over 30 staff with a growing list of clients.

Effective 31 December 2009, Warwick will be moving into a full time position as a City Councillor to follow his passion for South African Politics and fulfil his life-long ambition of making a difference.

Quinton Delpeche joined THUSA in December as a Network Administrator. He grew up in Johannesburg and Pretoria, and has always had an interest in Technology and Computers. He joined Persetel as a Support Engineer in 1996 and after a short stint of work he moved on to Software Development for what was then called AST.  He has worked at various IT companies over the years and has done tasks ranging from Embedded Software Development to Enterprise Web-based Applications.

THUSA was recently awarded the contract to take over the Sugar Milling Research Institute’s(SMRI) IT infrastructure. THUSA will be analysing and gathering information over the next few months before making recommendations for improvements that will take the Institute into the future by improving their performance, cutting their costs and hopefully their energy consumption.
